Dates and Hours:

10AM - 8PM both days


Location: 

Denver's Golden Triangle Neighborhood; two blocks south of Civic Center Park.  

Closest address is 123 W. 12th Avenue, Denver, CO 80204.  

Looking for a landmark? We are near the Denver Art Museum, Kirkland Museum, Clyfford Still Museum, Evans School and Leven Deli.   


Weather: 

The festival will take place rain or shine! If inclement weather does occur, the artists will pause their work and then resume once the ground dries out again. They are resilient and we applaud their tenacity!

Transportation and Parking: 

You can find bike corrals throughout the Golden Triangle district, a protected bike lane on 14th Avenue, and “sharrows” on Bannock Street and 12th Avenue. 


Reduce emissions and leave the driving to someone else! Use public transportation with RTD: https://www.rtd-denver.com/app/plan  
 

Parking is available at several lots near the event, including in the Cultural Center Complex Garage at 12th Avenue and Broadway. Accessible parking spaces are located on the second level and electric vehicle charging stations are available on the third level.

Accessibility: 

The Festival site is accessible for all, and there are parking garages that have accessibility parking close to the festival. 


Admission: 

Free and open to the public 


Food and Beverage: 

Food vendors and beverage booths are located throughout the festival site on Bannock between 11th and 13th   


Lost and Found and First-Aid:  

Evans School: 1115 Acoma Street 


Restrooms: 

Located in the parking lot off of 12th between Bannock and Acoma  


Kids Corner: 

Children inspired by the chalk drawing process are welcome in Kids Corner to create their own temporary masterpieces. This area is open 10am-6pm daily. Please do not take chalk outside of this designated area to keep the inspiration from appearing on area businesses.  


Youth Challenge:  

A collection of area schools will be coached by our veteran artists and will be competing with one another in the block of Acoma between 11th and 12th  


People’s Choice Award:  

Artists are competing for the coveted “People’s Choice Awards” - voting takes place during the festival and closes at 4PM on Sunday, June 8. The link to vote will be posted the morning of Sunday, June 8. 


The Artist Awards Ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 8 at 5PM at the CherryArts Stage. Everyone is welcome!

Event Rules: 

  • For the safety and enjoyment of all festival attendees please observe the following rules. The Denver Chalk Art Festival reserves the right to decline admittance to anyone who violates the reasonable policies established for public safety. 
  • All bags, containers, & packages are subject to search by event personnel. 
  • No outside alcohol is allowed to be brought in and no alcohol from the site may be taken out. 
  • Be kind to your pets — leave them at home when you visit the Chalk Art Festival. The street pavement gets HOT, and bringing pets is highly discouraged for the safety of both animals and patrons alike. City regulations state that service animals are allowed within the Chalk Art Festival site. 
  • Smoking is not permitted inside any structure or in any seating area on the Chalk Art Festival grounds. Marijuana use in public is illegal. 
  • Coolers, large signs, and placards, which may endanger or inconvenience the public attending the Chalk Art Festival, are prohibited. 
  • Bicycles cannot be ridden within the site and must be parked off site. 
  • The riding of skateboards or use of roller blades, roller shoes, scooters or any rolling mechanisms within the site is prohibited and must be carried or parked off site.  
  • For all related dates and times, Chalk Art Festival obtains a Street Occupancy Permit from the City and County of Denver and fully retains all rights and benefits thereto for public rights of way. 
  • No drones allowed.
